Last Sunday I was lucky enough to get around to seeing the Life of Pi. I read the book a couple years ago and loved it, so I was excited to see the movie. The only skepticism I had was that it wouldn't translate well. I feel that was the biggest with everyone seeing how the book is very allegorical and has a lot description on visuals. The movie was fantastic. I was amazed at how it translated. The highlight of the movie was the visuals, which were breathtaking. Richard Parker (the tiger) was phenomenal; I was blown away at how realistic he was. I think this has a good shot for the Academy Award for Visual effects. I recommend that everyone who has read the book should go see it. You won't be disappointed.
